First-generation US born citizen, son to Vietnamese refugee parents from Vietnam. Because of his background, he empahsizes immigrant rights and a smoother path towards citizenship. Kenny is also a firm believer in how the interesectionality of systematic inequality hinders American society whether it is class, gender, race, and socio-economic status. He comes from a curious lenses rather than a accusatory lenses and believes there is no point to blaming or “othering” certain groups. He identifies as moderate-democratic in that he understands that total anhilation of immigration enforcement is not plausible, but some level of border restriction is necessary. He works as an outpatient therapist and supervisor for a living and believes mental health to be a vital factor in considering when discussions surrounding politics. In his free time he enjoys reading, cooking, consuming and creating political content (obviously), and working out at the gym.

Rico (Alex) Olivas

Son to parents who immigrated from Mexico and escaped from their places of origins filled with dangers and economic hardships. Alex’s parents live a hardworking life doing construction and running a food business while Rico also works in construction as well. Rico comes from a difficult background which has lead to a more cynical and skeptical perspective of both the democrat and republican sides of the government. Although he does not align with either side, Rico believes in a fidelity prioritized government where actions should align with words. In his free time, Rico enjoys fine dining, spending time with his family, and going to parks.
